What are some objects/animals that can symbolize guilt or innocence?

Something that can symbolize both, but not at the same time. Like, the color white, lambs, and children are symbolic of innocence, and a shadow or chain can symbolize guilt, but is there anything that could be both? And if not, what are some more individual ones for either?
