I agree with what you say at the start of the play and their relationship within it, however you need to acknowledge the fact that their relationship changes during the course of the play. Lady Macbeth ends up as a demonic figure and is instrumental in driving Macbeth to his deeds, and ultimate doom. A lot of critical comment on Macbeth sees her as being almost allegorical rather than a purely human character. If you do an internet search on critical articles about Lady Macbeth you will find quite a bit has been written over the years and there are a lot of varying opinions on her role and position in the play.
