How to add Guitar Chords to Music?

Well your best option is to find the composer/songwriter's original piece, and look for the guitar chords at a music store or online. If your friend wrote the song, and has a melody in mind, you might have to do some composition, which can be tricky if you don't know much music theory, however, some people just have a knack for this, so give it a go. If your friend wrote the lyrics, and wants you to compose the music for him/her that takes a bit of talent and practice, give it a go! By all means, you will probably get frustrated by it at some point, and you may need to re-write it several times, but you should be able to get somewhere if you have an ear for music. Another great tool is the "Band-in-a-box" auto harmonizing tool available in Finale Songwriter. However, that does cost $50. Or find a music geek to do it for you, if I had any extra time, I would help you, but, I don't...I do notice that this song was posted on Topix.
