Can you hang a flat screen tv over a fireplace?

We have always had pictures hanging there and stuff on the mantle. I would like to rearrange my living room and the way I would like it would leave the tv along that wall. The wall does NOT get hot what so ever even with a fire going. Has anyone else done this?
